Recording Done for Audio of Blood Soup!

Audio Book Cover Art for Blood SoupThe narration is complete for the audio version of Blood Soup! I’ve listened to all the files and notified Audible that I approved them.

Now, we wait for Audible to do their own quality checks. This could take anywhere from fourteen to twenty days, according to Audible — but my narrator Edoardo Camponeschi of menestrandise.com tells me that it’s been running about a week. I’m hoping that’s the case.

I’ve pictured the new cover art here. Audible requires the square, ‘jewel case’ format. I was able to put Eduardo’s name on the cover, too.

Spread the word! (And cross your fingers for a February release!)

Audio Book, Coming Soon!

Cover of Blood Soup by Kelly A. HarmonI’m very pleased to announce that I’ll very shortly have an audio version of my book, Blood Soup available!

It’s a short novel, and the timetable is happening so quick, that it’s likely it will be available from Audible (and elsewhere) by the end of February!

I’m even more tickled to announce that the reader is none other than Edoardo Camponeschi of menestrandise.com who has read so far the first three of Christopher Paolini’s “Inheritance Cycle” books to much acclaim.

When I submitted the book for audition, I requested someone who could read with both Italian and German accents since the two warring families in Blood Soup are modeled after Italy and Germany. I am (indescribably) excited that Edoardo submitted an audition. His voice is rich and luscious, and I know his reading will bring the story to life.

If you want a sneak preview of what the reading may sound like, check out Edoardo’s catalog which features many samples of his work — all in Italian at this time. I could listen for hours. 🙂 My Italian is rusty, but I’m feeling a definite need to brush up…

Do let me know if you’re as excited as I. In the meantime, I’ll work on getting the cover reformatted for Audible…

Cover of Sky Lit Bargains by Kelly A. Harmon depicts a woman dressed in armor, leaning against a stone wall.I have a new story for sale! Yay!

Sky Lit Bargains was first published in the anthology Hellebore and Rue, and now it’s available as a single.

It’s also available in paperback!

The paperback copy is only available in the CreateSpace store right now, but it should arrive at Amazon.com shortly. It’s listed on the sight, but not available for purchase yet. When the buy button shows up, I’ll post here. (Same goes for B&N.)

If you want a shiny signed copy, I’ll be at Balticon this weekend. Just drop by the BroadUniverse table where I’ll be spending most of my time. I opted not to be on any panels this year — I wanted a relaxing weekend. You should be able to catch me at the table at almost any time of day.

More of my stories will be released in paperback soon, starting with Blood Soup. If you’ve got a favorite you’d like to see after that, drop me a line.

Here are the buy links for Sky Lit Bargains:

“Blood Soup” Available Again

Blood Soup is available again!

It hasn’t worked its way into the Amazon or Barnes & Noble databases yet, but you can find Blood Soup at Smashwords if you’re interested.

Don’t you love the new cover? I think it’s a lot less misleading than the cover from the original publishing company. It is a dark fantasy, but skulls on the cover was a little over the top. (If you don’t remember it, you can see the old cover of Blood Soup here.

I still have a copies of the original paperback if you’re interested. Drop me a line if you want to purchase one.

If you want the current version in paperback, fear not. It’s coming.

I’ll drop a line when the other formats become available.

Two Cool Sites: Kindle Nation Daily and BookLending.Com

I found two very cool sites recently and I wanted to share.

Kindle Nation Daily features free books, tips, news and commentaries all related to Kindle. The site is jam-packed with info.

Kindle Nation Daily hosted Blood Soup yesterday, and I’m just tickled with the way it appeared. I just love the look and feel of that Web site.

But don’t visit just to check out the Blood Soup page, there’s A TON of things to look at and download.

In conjunction with the KND “spread,” Blood Soup was hosted over at BookLending.com. This site connects readers who want to read books with book owners who want to lend them. It allows folks to share kindle books.

Neat concept!

I’m Wanted! And Other Bits of Newsy News

Uncle Sam - I Want You PosterOh, boy!

I was tickled to wander over to Anna Marie Catoir’s blog and find myself “wanted!”

After reading the review for Blood Soup over at Kay’s Dead Book Darling blog, Anna Marie wanted to read it, too.

Wow! That kind of stuff just makes my day.

(Kay gave Blood Soup a “Great!” rating, by the way. You should check it out.)

But before you wander off to Kay’s blog to read the review, check out the masks Anna Marie makes and showcases on her blog. They’re fabulous. My favorites are the The Brown Man and Blue Lips.

In other newsy news, I sold my story Sky Lit Bargains, to the Drollerie Press anthology, Hellbore and Rue.
