    I hope you had fun!

    • Hi Gayle! I did have fun, thanks! Loved seeing all the little kiddies in their costumes. Did *NOT* eat as much chocolate as I wanted to (this is a good thing) but still managed to have a tasty evening. Did you celebrate?

This year, not I’m afraid. I am in Japan and it’s not really a holiday. Occasionally, I get together with people though just for fun.

    • Oh, Japan! How exciting. Have you been there long? What do like the best and the least about living abroad? (Japan is on my bucket list…if I ever get the time to go, I’ll be knocking on your door with a raft of questions about travel there…) 🙂

    Hi!
I’ve lived here for 12 years…so a long time ex-pat. I am comfortable living here now, but I still love my home in US just as much. Best and least? That would be a series of blog posts:) Maybe I should work on that. Whenever I am, I try to find the strengths and joys of that place and carry them with me. And when I find things I don’t like I think of ways to improve the situation or effectively learn to handle it.
If you think of visiting, I would be happy to give advice. There are so many beautiful places to visit, excellent food, excellent transportation and services, and I think you would have a wonderful time. Only big drawback: it is an expensive country to visit comparatively speaking, but there are ways to cut down on costs.

    • Hi Gayle

Yes! Please do some blog posts about best and worst. That sounds very interesting! I want to know more. (And I will definitely look you up if i start planning my trip. Right now, it’s just a pipe dream. One day, however…)

Can you get peppermint patties in Japan? I suspect you can. I think I’d miss my ‘comfort foods’ the most if I were abroad for so long.

Thank you! You’ve given me some ideas to think about. I feel a character beginning to grow: someone who’s far from home, for longer than she wants to be, and can’t get what she absolutely needs. Hhm. There’s got to be a story in there somewhere!

That is a fabulous photo, Kelly. Harold drove a farm tractor in a pumpkin patch & had a good time. Don’t you just love all the kid-lings in costumes? We had 8 T&Ts this year, all time record in over 20 years.

    Huggers to you all ~

    • Hi Marydon!

We were with friends, so we got to see lots of tricker-treaters. Such great costumes this year! Love the little, little ones… I think my favorite costume was the “candy corn” witch I saw: pointy hat and shoes, but fun, bright colors.
